Polysaccharide fibre in cross section
Polysaccharide fibres are used in biomedical and drug delivery applications due to their unique combination of mechanical properties.
The experimental samples of polysaccharide fibre were cut using a focused ion beam (FIB) with subsequent navigation to the region of interest using an SEM machine and surface topography measurements of the FIB cut profile provided by the LiteScope.
Measurement modes: Topography
LiteScope benefits:
- In-situ FIB milling with subsequent characterisation employing SEM and AFM
- Precise navigation to the area of interest
