Protein nanowires analysis

Protein nanowires possess a unique combination of mechanical properties that are very useful in biomedical applications. During this sample analysis, we studied nanowires deposited between the hydrophobic nanopillars.
Using the LiteScope implemented into the SEM chamber, we were able to localise the individual nanowires quickly and precisely and to evaluate the dimensions, Young modulus and tensile strength of the protein nanowires.
